Trump may announce his candidacy for president tonight

Trump’s speech will reportedly be delivered at his residence in Mar-a-Lago, Palm Beach, Florida, tonight SST.

The initial messages Trump wrote on his own social platform, Truth Social, do not indicate he is hesitant.

The 76-year-old Trump called reporters in for a statement at 21 p.m. local time Tuesday evening 3 Swedish time Wednesday morning. Trump promised “a very big announcement.”

Trump is believed to stand despite criticism and opposition, even within his own party, against the idea that Trump would once again lead the country as president.

The midterm elections were in several cases a setback for the candidates Trump has supported. He is also one of the key figures in the congressional hearings on the storming of the Capitol last January.

The latest is former gunslinger Vice President Mike Pence, who said in a high-profile interview Monday night that Trump had “lost his mind” over the events at the Capitol.

Pence was equally tough in his memoir, God Help Me, which was published on Tuesday.

“We had a close collaboration for four years. It didn’t end well,” sums up Pence, who himself aspires to become president.

The next presidential elections will be held in November 2024.
