Polish Central Command announces that a Russian robot traveled in Polish airspace during the night.
“On March 24 at 04:23 there was a violation of Polish airspace by a cruise robot launched by a long-range aircraft of the Russian Federation. The targets of the attacks were cities in western Ukraine,” they wrote on the X website.
According to the data, the cruise robot was present in Polish airspace for 39 seconds.
The Polish military said its forces were placed on high alert due to intense Russian air activity and automated attacks in Ukraine. According to the army, “Polish aircraft and allied forces were activated.”
Overnight, Ukraine issued a national air alert warning of the launch of Russian cruise missiles from Russian bombers.
“Explosions in the capital. Air defense was activated. “Do not leave the shelters,” Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko wrote on Telegram early Sunday.
An area south of the city of Lviv, near the Polish border, was also attacked, Lviv Region Governor Maksym Koszytzky said.
On Saturday evening, Ukraine attacked the city of Sevastopol in the occupied Crimean Peninsula with several missiles and drones, according to Russian authorities.
Russian defenses shot down more than a dozen missiles, but a number of residential buildings were hit, Sevastopol's Russian-appointed governor, Mikhail Razvozgayev, wrote on social media.
According to Razvozgiev, one person was killed and four others were injured.
He added: “It is the largest attack in recent times.”
