Santana’s manager said in a statement to Fox News Digital that music legend Carlos Santana collapsed on stage at a concert in Michigan on Tuesday night due to heat stress and dehydration and was “fine.”
“Rock legend Carlos Santana suffered heat exhaustion and dehydration while performing on Tuesday evening (July 5) in Michigan,” said rock coach Michael Friones. “The great guitarist has been pulled from his show at the Pine Knob Musical Theater….Carlos has been taken to the emergency department at McLaren Clarkston for observation and he is doing well… Tomorrow’s show July 6 at Star Lake Pavilion (formerly S&T Bank Music Park) in Burgstown, Pennsylvania To a later date More details to follow via Live Nation.

Santana, 74, was performing at the Pine Knob Musical Theater, an outdoor amphitheater in Clarkston, Michigan.
Santana fainted about 40 minutes into his set while performing the song “Joy,” according to FOX 2. He apparently sat on a standing machine and appeared to have passed out.

“Suddenly the music went off,” said FOX 2 reporter Laurie Benson, who was at the party. I didn’t see him collapse on stage, but everyone put him aside. Suddenly a chair appeared where it had never been before. Doctors started rushing to the scene.”
Officials said the musician was receiving “serious medical care,” WDIV-TV reported.
“Ladies and gentlemen, as you can see you have a serious medical emergency,” a staff member reportedly told the audience, according to Ultimateclassicrock.com. “Let us partake in our prayers…we need them now…Please send your light and your love to this man.”

A privacy curtain was placed between Santana and the audience while he remained under medical care on stage and about 20 minutes later he was removed as he waved to the crowd.

His band Santana is currently on tour with Earth, Wind & Fire for a “Supernatural Super Tour”. The band was scheduled to play Wednesday in Burgstown, Pennsylvania, which has been canceled.
