Seven defeats in the first seven games of the season: No third division team has started worse than TSV Havelse. In 0:1 (0:0) against Borussia Dortmund 2, the rookie team suffered, but the bottom line is that there was not enough quality in the team.
The previous “record” was held by FC Carl Zeiss Jena, who started the 2019/2020 season with six bankruptcies. Havelsi now has seven points and “decorates” the end of the table in the third tier with zero points and 2:14 goals.
The duel between Havelser and the BVB youth at the sparsely populated Hanover 96 initially took place at eye level, but in the first half there were no real highlights. The hosts were good defensively, but they didn’t achieve anything convincing in attack. But Dortmund don’t do that either.
Important: The only small surprise was the action of Marco Pasalic in the 41st minute. The injured Dortmund was treated off the pitch, but he returned to the pitch to sit there again. Referee Patrick Schwingers rightly showed the yellow to Pasalic, which then had to be replaced.
It wasn’t because of TSV goalkeeper Quint
In the 54th minute, 1,000 or so spectators got their first big chance to see it. Dortmund’s Ted Tattermusch refueled from the right, but good TSV goalkeeper Norman Quendt kept a zero for his team with a great reaction. Even with Ole Pullman’s attempt (63rd), the Lower Saxony goalkeeper was very awake. But in the 69th minute, Quint had to extend his hand behind him. Richmond Tachy scored a deserved goal, leading 1-0 to the visitors.
And Havells? Rudiger Zell’s team tried hard, and several times came with good prospects in front of Westphalian goal, but the bottom line is that they have little individual quality and playing opportunities to seriously embarrass opponents in the third division.
