Seven new electric models by 2024
Ford has revealed plans for seven new electric models — three passenger cars and four SUVs — to join its all-electric car lineup in Europe: the Mach-E launched in 2021, followed by the Mach-E GT for customers this year, and the E-Transit , which will roll out at any moment.
From 2023, Ford will begin production of a new mid-range electric crossover in Cologne, and in 2024 another electric model will be added to the production line in Cologne. Electric model production and investments in Cologne
Ford also announced that the first all-electric passenger car to leave the Ford Electric Vehicle Center in Cologne will be a five-seater mid-range crossover. New battery factory in Turkey
To support vehicle electrification plans, Ford and SK On Co., Ltd. have signed on. and Koç Holding a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding on a new commercially successful joint venture based in Turkey. After signing the final contract, the three partners plan to establish one of the largest electric car battery production plants in the wider European region.
The joint venture is located near Ankara and will manufacture high-nickel NMC cells for assembly into battery units. Production is expected to start in the middle of the decade, with an estimated initial capacity of 30-45 GWh of cells produced annually.
