‘It’s the perfect project’, Vieira is happy with his Crystal Palace adventure

RMC Sports Disqualification Patrick Vieira arrived last summer on the sidelines of Crystal Palace, and he’s having a good first part of the season with the Eagles. The ninth in the English Premier League standings with an interesting background, the Frenchman expressed his satisfaction with his joining the London club.

After a mixed spell at OGC Nice between 2018 and December 2020, which ended with dismissal, Patrick Vieira is spending a good part of the season at the helm of Crystal Palace. His team, which he has managed since this summer, also beat Norwich 3-0 on Tuesday in the Premier League. Before this match, which he missed due to a positive test for Covid-19, the French coach confirmed on the show PL Live RMC Sport 1.

Even if results don’t always follow at first, the Eagles are now in ninth place and the Frenchman says he is happy to have agreed to join the London club: “It’s the perfect project. I think when we have a proposal from the Premier League it’s hard to refuse.”

“I’m in the right club to be able to put my thoughts into place.”

While the former Arsenal player struggled to get what he wanted in Nice, Vieira did not have the same problem at Crystal Palace. Often struggling to stay in the first division, the London club became a tougher team.

According to the coach, this is mainly due to the directions that the club leaders follow: “For a young coach, starting a project is always interesting. There is a lot of work on team building (…) It is always important to have a certain balance of experience to be able to compete in the Premier League.

I think I am in the right club to be able to put my thoughts in the right place.” After an ambitious recruiting as players like Conor Gallagher, Joachim Andersen and Odson Edward arrived, Crystal Palace started their new cycle on the right foot.
