Donald Trump is expected to be the next Republican presidential nominee, in which case he will compete – once again – with Joe Biden when the US votes in November. He has a big lead against Nikki Haley, who is the only competitor.

But while one Trump after another appeared, his wife, also a former first lady of the United States, was absent.

And now the former president is speaking out about Melania Trump, telling Laura Ingraham on Fox News that his wife will be seen “a lot” during his upcoming election campaign.

– It's funny, she was a very successful model, very, very successful, and at the same time she was an ordinary person. We will see her often. Not because she likes it, but because she likes the result. She wants to see this country succeed. Trump says she loves the country.

– You know, a lot of first ladies want to be everywhere. They get angry with their spouses if they are not provided for. Unless I introduce Melania, she's happy with that. She is simply a different type of person.

Praise for the wife: “Self-confidence”

The reason Melania Trump hasn't been seen much on the campaign trail so far is because her mother, Amalia Knavs, died earlier this year, Fox News writes. According to her husband, she also spent time raising their son, Barron Trump.

Her life revolves around that boy. At the same time, it's about our country and our country's successes, Donald Trump tells Fox News.

According to him, Melania will participate in the campaign “for the good of the country.”

– Not for his own good. She's a very confident person so he doesn't need that.
