No surround system: Netflix brings spatial sound to everyone

Netflix delivers spatial audio to all of its customers based on Sennheiser technology. Compatible titles can be found using the search function with the term “spatial sound”. The streaming service compares this feature to launching 4K, HDR, and Dolby Atmos.

Usually, Netflix subscribers do not have to do anything to enjoy the new sound effects. The feature works automatically on compatible devices. However, some TVs may be set to output 5.1 audio without the need for the appropriate speakers. This should turn into stereo sound. For users of many Apple devices, spatial audio is nothing new on Netflix. Audio has been available on more iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV 4K devices for some time. Various AirPods and Beats Fit Pro can also output spatial audio via the Apple interface.
