Status: March 31, 2021 at 8:09 p.m.

Panic erupts at funeral of late Tanzanian President Makhoufuli – 45 dead Magufuli is one of Africa’s most famous corona deniers.

At least 45 people have been killed in the funeral of the late Tanzanian President John McFuley. City Police Chief Lazaro Mambosa said he climbed a wall in Dar es Salaam last week to see Makufuli’s body in a stadium. But the wall collapsed, resulting in a terrible mass panic.

Makufuli was buried last week in a state funeral home in his hometown of Chatto. On March 17, the government announced that Makufuli had died of heart failure. For opposition leaders, however, it does not matter that he is subject to the effects of a corona infection.

Magufuli was a famous corona denier

Magufuli was considered one of Africa’s most famous corona deniers. He rejected the far-reaching rules, recommending herbs and exercises against Govt-19, saying Tanzania overcame the epidemic with three days of national prayer last year. Makufuli questioned the effectiveness of corona tests and vaccines.

He has not been seen in public since Feb. 27, sparking rumors of a severe Govt-19 illness. In Tanzania, Makhoufuli was praised by many for his fighting style and anti-corruption campaign, even when his opponents accused him of using repressive methods other than his corona suspicion.

He was succeeded by Samia Suluhu Hassan, who previously served as his vice president. He was the first head of state of Tanzania. On Tuesday, he nominated Treasury Secretary Philip Mabango for the post of Vice President. Parliament unanimously granted the trip to the staff.
