PGE Energia Ciepła has signed a contract with Energotechnika-Energorozruch for the construction of a gas boiler room at the Bydgoszcz I CHP plant located on Żeglarska Street. It will be commissioned early 2022/2023 – according to information provided by PGE Energia Ciepła.
The contract signed relates to the design and construction of a gas-fired water heating plant with a capacity of up to 20 MW, with an option to expand by another 20 MW. The investment will be carried out at one of the two sites of the Bydgoszcz branch of PGE Energia Ciepła, namely Bydgoszcz I Heat and Power Plant.
The thermal power of the gas boiler will consist of a group of four water gas boilers with a capacity of at least 9.5 MW each. The investment will result in a fourfold reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions and a twofold reduction in carbon dioxide emissions to the atmosphere, the elimination of dust emissions and the elimination of sulfur dioxide emissions.
– We abandon the use of coal in one of our units, which is located in Jachcice in Bydgoszcz. This will positively affect the environment, ensure the security of heat supply and create conditions for the future supply of new heat receivers from Bydgoszcz, says Sebastian Wasilowski, Director of the PGE Energia Ciepła Heat and Power Station in Bydgoszcz, citing the announcement.
