After a total of 20 years within the group of companies Marcel Hurlemann, Head of Finance and Operations at Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland, will step down at the start of 2023 and retire at the age of 63. Since 2002, Horlemann has worked for Jan Frei Verlag, which was restructured under his direction as CFO and sold to German Axel Springer Group in 2006. There he was responsible for the merger with Handelszeitung Publishing Group and formation associated with Axel Springer Switzerland. In 2016, Horlemann negotiated the creation of what is now known as the Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland joint venture, in which he has been successful as CFO and Operations Director for the past five years.

Sasha Hilbert (37), currently Head of Business Development at Ringier, will assume the duties of Marcel Herrlemann as CFO at the beginning of 2022 and be a member of the management team at Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland. Hilbert has worked with Ringier and Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland since 2016; Prior to that, he spent seven years at the international trading firm Valora, where he was most recently responsible for business development and subsequently selling Valora Trade to a group of private investors. “I am very happy that we found an internal successor to the CFO at Sasha Hilbert,” says Alexander Theobald. “He already knows the company and its environment very well and has proven in recent years that he is up to the challenge.” Hilbert will be immediately identified with the new job and will officially take over on January 1, 2022.
