Hertha BSC lost a friendly match against Lech Poznan 2:4 (1:2). Germany’s Berlin team fell early on Friday on a side court at the Olympic site. Joao Amaral (sixth minute) scored the first goal for the Polish first division team. His colleague in the attack Jacob Kaminsky (10th minute) added a little later. Then Hertha coach Typhoon Korkut’s team entered the match better and scored the goal through Vladimir Derrida (32) before the end of the first half.
Korkut made eight substitutions in the first half. Hopes of compensation were not fulfilled. Amaral (63) with a penalty kick and Antonio Milic (72nd minute) made sure that they were clearly behind. Defender Linus Geister (80) was unable to shorten Hertha again.
It is questionable whether Gichter’s defensive partner Jordan Torunariga will remain in Berlin. According to media reports, the 24-year-old is on loan to Belgian club KAA Gent. So far, Herta has only confirmed that Torunariga is negotiating with another club. The deadline for transfer ends next Monday. Due to the Bundesliga break, Hertha’s next league match will be played on February 4th at the Olympic Stadium, against VFL Bochum.
