Two late goals save New York City

After being put off by a goal in the final minutes of the game, New York City FC scored twice to save itself with a 2-1 victory over DC United on Sunday at Red Bull Arena.

Keaton Parks tied the match for the first time with a header from a corner kick from teammate Maximiliano Morales.

Then, late in injury time, Thiago Andrade put in a superb individual effort to allow his team to collect the three points that accompanied the victory. The Brazilian crossed the field, the ball at his feet, before making a nice technical gesture to beat the opposing defender and shove the ball into the net.

Soon Nigel Rortha gave the lead to his family. From the ninth minute of play, he took advantage of the impressive display of Moussa Neiman to outsmart the New York goalkeeper.

With this defeat with the formation of the US National Capital, it remained tied to Montreal in the Eastern Conference standings, with 13 points. But the Peel County squad played one game less.

Red Bulls and Atlanta tied

At Mercedes-Benz Stadium, neither Atlanta United nor the New York Red Bulls could shake the strings, leading to a 0-0 draw.

Goalkeeper Brad Guzan punched all four of his nets to sign the close. Visitors Carlos achieved this achievement by blocking three shots.

With this point in the standings, the Red Bulls also have 13 points, as do CF Montreal and DC United. Like Wilfried Nancy’s men, the New York team played 10 games. For his part, Atlanta United is one point behind this trio.
