WhatsApp will allow to recover deleted messages on Android – Grupo Milenio

Mexico City /

WhatsApp is developing a new feature that allows you to restore messages after deleting them so that they do not disappear permanently, which was warned in the latest Android beta update.

Currently, the social network offers the ability to delete messages, with the “Delete for me” and “Delete for everyone” options, in case you want to delete the content for the rest of the group chat users.

WhatsApp is now working on a function that allows you to undo the deletion of a message, as WABetaInfo was able to notice in the latest update 2.22.13.5 released through the Google Play Beta Program for Android.

With a screenshot of the feature in question, this niche portal has shown that the messaging app now, in beta, has a bar at the bottom of the interface.

This includes an “Undo” button to recover deleted messages, which will only be present in this part of the interface for a few seconds.

From WABetaInfo they point out that this functionality may favor the user experience. This is because it is common for users to hit the wrong delete option, “Delete for me”, and not be able to retrieve the message to delete it for everyone, because it automatically disappears from the chat.

This feature is in development so beta testers can’t access it yet, and its official release date is unknown.
