ZoomAfter seven years of Kylotonn Racing Games/NACON’s WRC racing games, the license is changing to EA/Codemasters, who wants to show the world how it’s going from 2023. Prior to that, however, the current licensee’s final title is still pending. Nacon has officially announced the WRC generations and promises the most authentic and comprehensive rally racing simulation. As of October 13, the game will be initially released for PlayStation 5, 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One. The PC and Nintendo Switch versions are expected to launch a little later.
The result of 7 years of development work and collaboration with the legendary drivers who have already supported WRC 10 and WRC 9, the WRC generations should be a comprehensive successful conclusion with new features and continuous improvements.
Hybrid cars, brand new Rally Sweden, more driving options
Just like WRC in the real world, generations of WRC introduce an important new competitive advantage: hybrid cars! The powerful combination of electric and combustion engines gives gamers the opportunity to experience an entirely new driving experience, both in terms of physics and through a completely revised sound design.
Vehicles from their ancestors can still be found in the game, but they are rendered more authentically than ever before. In total, there are at least 37 legendary cars, carefully recreated with their own mechanical characteristics.
In addition to the 13 rallies of the 2022 season, the game contains 9 additional locations for a total of 22 different countries and 165 special stages. The all-new Swedish track appears and is the only snowmobile race where the physics come close to real-world conditions.
New solo and online content
With all-new game modes and thus new possibilities, WRC Generations promises more gaming fun in general. In Career Mode, players can create their own story and manage every aspect of their team and lead it to success. The skill tree includes a new opportunity with hybrid powered cars.
In League mode, players can compete in daily and weekly challenges and try to climb to the top of the leaderboard
put. With the Teams system, players can join a team or create their own, raising the bar in each challenge.
The popular WRC 10 car skin editor has been expanded to include the option to share your own creations with other players. Also, players can take part in practice races in split screen or online and enjoy the real experience with a friend in co-driver mode.
