In early July, the Chamber of Deputies adopted an amendment to the Law of the National Labor Inspectorate regarding the right to additional leave of absence for certain PIP employees.

The preparation of the bill is the committee’s reaction to a petition addressed to the Chamber of Deputies by the National Labor Inspectorate.

How many additional days of annual leave?

The objective of the amendment is to give some PIP employees – performing inspection activities and having at least ten years of work experience in jobs related to these activities, the right to additional annual leave for 6 working days, and after 20 years – 12 days.

As explained in the explanatory note, the proposed solution aims to give the employees of the National Labor Inspectorate the right to additional leave on terms similar to the provisions that grant this right to employees of the Office of Financial Supervision.

“Such a solution, which is also an expression of appreciation for PIP employees who perform oversight activities (many times very stressful), should contribute to greater renewal of PIP employees during their holidays, which will have a positive impact on the efficiency and intensity of their on-the-job activities”- TAMM Emphasis on it in justification.

The law will enter into force on January 1, 2022.

‘They deserve a vacation’

On Tuesday, the Senate Committee on Family, Seniors, and Social Policy expressed its unanimous and positive opinion on amending the law. No comments were made on the law.

Deputy Minister of Development, Labor and Technology Iona Mikhaik, who was present at the meeting, confirmed that the ministry had given a positive opinion about the law. – We believe that employees need to be valued and deserve vacation – emphasized.

Now the bill will be dealt with by the Senate in plenary.
