Italian Martina Fidanza has become the world scratch champion, ahead of Dutchman Mike van der Doyen and American Jennifer Valente. Victoire Berto, the French premiere, took sixth place. At team speed, the Germans beat the Russians in the final while the British took the bronze in the mini-final against the Japanese.
