After Google shortened its Chrome browser release cycle to four weeks, a new major release is available again with Chrome 96. The update brings many improvements and bug fixes, but also fills in vulnerabilities. So the new version 96.0.4664.45 should be imported immediately by all users in Windows, macOS and Linux. If you haven’t received the update yet, just use the following downloads to update Chrome. All data and settings are preserved.

Update Chrome
- Click on the three dots at the top right.
- Click helps and then Via Google Chrome.
- Chrome will then check for updates. If one of them is available, the app will update automatically.
- Click start over.
Google has indicated that it will take several days and weeks to distribute the update. Alternatively, use one of the downloads from COMPUTER BILD in this article.
