For five years, Thaddäus Meilinger can be seen almost every day on RTL before the evening, and has been in front of the camera for more than 1,000 days of filming as entrepreneur Felix Lehmann on the “Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten” series. But that’s over now: the 39-year-old is turning his back on everyday soap — at least for now.

Thaddäus is taking a GZSZ break to dedicate himself to other projects, according to the broadcaster. “Of course I’ve grown in love with Felix with all his stories that I’ve been allowed to play. But now I’m also looking forward to new roles on stage and in film as well as music. I’m currently working on a prom program and a Christmas CD”, the actor explains in an interview with RTL.

More family time

First and foremost, he wants to take more time for his family. “It is a wonderful luxury to have my young son accompanied soon as he gets used to kindergarten,” Thaddeus says happily.

The 39-year-old has been married to co-star Fritzi Malf Voss since 2018, and they have two children together. Their first son was born in October 2016, and his little brother followed in November 2019. Fritzi also brought another son into the relationship. Squidward wants to give them his full attention.

The actor has already completed his last day of filming at GZSZ, so fans will have to say goodbye to him soon. The final episode with Felix Lehmann at the moment is supposed to continue in late summer. It is still unclear how exactly his departure from the series will be discussed and when he will return.
