Hyundai Palisade revamped for its debut in 2023 in New York

Hyundai has revealed a mid-cycle refresh of the Palisade, its successful three-row pickup. Although modifications to the Hyundai Palisade 2023 do not bring many new features, they increase the attractiveness and versatility of the model, which in its original form greatly pleased the manufacturer. The Hyundai Palisade 2023 debuted Wednesday at the New York Auto Show.

The most noticeable change in this update is the new front of the Palisade with a completely new grille and headlights, different and above all interesting, which are repeated without imitating the visual symbiosis of these elements that work so well in the Hyundai Tucson. On the visual level, there are also some modifications to the front and rear bumpers, as well as newly designed wheels.

Changes to the cabin of the 2023 Palisade are less drastic. The main novelty is a new molding that visually connects the center and left vents of the climate control system, similar to vehicles like the Lincoln Corsair and Honda HR-V, and the adoption of a new Hyundai steering wheel that we’ve already seen in models like the Sonata. Other less glamorous but more effective changes include a system that uses airbags to help reduce driver fatigue, second-row seat ventilation and optional third-row seat heating.

The Hyundai Palisade now has a rearview mirror that acts as a monitor for the rearview camera in cases where things obstruct vision. Notably, this is one of our favorite features of any vehicle it offers because not only does it provide a wide-angle view that’s impossible to achieve in a common mirror, but the occupant can see exactly what the driver sees, enabling more informed assistance in an emergency.

Other major tech upgrades in the 2023 Palisade include a new optional 12-inch infotainment display, offering 720p resolution, a Wi-Fi hotspot, plus upgraded USB-C ports and wireless charging surfaces that increase 15W instead of the usual 5W. A new feature called Digital Key 2 Touch allows drivers to operate the car from their iPhone, Apple Watch or Samsung Galaxy without having to carry the key, as well as share access to the car with friends and family through Apple Wallet and Samsung Pass.

Where there is no modification under the hood of the Palisade 2023 is still the same 3.8-liter V6 engine from the 2022 model, making 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Hyundai for 2023 added a new towing mode that keeps gears lower for longer and shifts more frequently.

The Hyundai Palisade 2023 will reach dealerships this summer. The manufacturer has not made any announcement regarding its prices.
