Intuban as singer Il Divo

Singer Carlos Marin, part of the Il Divo group, has been admitted to an induced coma in the intensive care unit of the Royal Manchester Hospital in the UK.

According to his Universal Music rating, the 53-year-old star was on tour with the group in England, but a week ago he began to feel uncomfortable and had to be hospitalized without knowing the reasons.

“Our dear friend and colleague, Carlos, is in the hospital. We wish and pray for a speedy recovery,” the group shared from their Twitter account.

Primer Beat Producciones has announced that the concert, scheduled for December 22 at the Colosseum in A Coruña, Spain, will be postponed until June 15 next year. Tickets already purchased will work on this new date and will open until January 4th to request a refund.

Music producer Simon Cowell founded Il Divo, after envisioning that a male singing quartet would stand a chance of success with the covers of the legendary songs.

Carlos Marin joined Il Divo in 2003, after participating in musical theater projects. Together with Swiss Urs Buehler, French Sebastien Isambard and American David Miller, he has released nine studio albums since his 2004 self-titled album.

The quartet managed to sell about 40 million copies worldwide.
