Jaworzno power plant block failed. Torun’s responses

A priority for the Tauron Group is to quickly complete the repair of the 910 MW unit in Jaworzno and restart it in 2022 – said Łukasz Zimnoch, Tauron Group press spokesman. Last week, Business Insider Polska was the first to announce that this misguided investment of the concern is in jeopardy.

– At the beginning of August, Torun and Rafako set a realistic timetable for carrying out repair work. However, if Rafaco’s situation affects the implementation of this work, Torun will analyze different scenarios in this regard – said ukasz Zimnoch, a press spokesman for Tauron.

On Friday, we wrote that Tauron’s $6 billion major investment is at risk. Ravaco warns that if it does not find an investor in a few days, it may not be possible to complete the repair of a block that has been closed due to a malfunction. Our findings show that Rafako is lobbying Torun and the Polish State Treasury to allocate capital to save the company.

As explained by the Torun spokesperson, the company has shown great flexibility in its business relations with Ravaco, with the aim of first starting with the block and then repairing its boiler part. – The contract for the implementation of the investment is guaranteed by guarantees of more than 600 million PLN – Zimnok said.
