Even professional musicians get it wrong sometimes…
In the final blind auditions for Friday night’s “The Voice Kids,” not only the remaining talents were excited. Their coaches also went to great lengths to get the young, up-and-coming singers into the team.
In the Battle of the Jazz Ben (12), Lena Meyer Landrut (30) made a small mistake.
The student is really musically capable, plays the drums as well as the piano. But his great love is jazz. Gave a small sample on Friday evening. On stage, Ben performed Oasis’ “Wonderwall” in a jazz version of Paul Anka (80).
The coaches did not expect such a number. The excitement was greater. Alvaro Soler (31) and Lina in quick succession. Wincent Weiss, 29, and the crowd also turned around. Ben convinced them all.
Lena was over the moon and praised her performance in the highest notes: “Such a beautiful voice paired with this song in this special edition takes a lot of courage. Anyway, it will be rewarded with a four-way bell.” For Alvaro, it was clear: “I understood what jazz means.” .”
An advantage for him: He and Ben have the same favorite musician – star Phil Collins (71). The coach felt the opportunity to attract talent to his team and grabbed the guitar. “I can sing you something to Phil Collins.” Lena wished she had the last word on the song choice and asked politely, “Can I ask Phil Collins something? How about ‘Can you feel the love tonight?”
Here, however, the musician made a mistake and Alvaro must enlighten him: “This is from Elton John.” Her colleague with a wink: “Lena, you’re out!” For Ben, the coach finally performed Phil Collins. The scientist hit “Another Day in Heaven” and added “Ben, join my team” on his back.
Even the Fantasia had to admit: “Alvaro, I got it.” The pop star has been rewarded for his efforts. In the end, Ben chose his team.
