Liddell and Aldi Nord showed the way, and now McDonald’s is following suit: the fast food giant is releasing its own line of fashion. In collaboration with streetwear manufacturer Snipes, they will be releasing a collection of 34 pieces of apparel and accessories. Hoodies, T-shirts, bags, hats or AirPods – in the future you will likely come across the logo with the golden letter “M” more often in everyday life. Individual products have a retro look and combine classic McDonald’s red, green and gold colors with Snipes’ typical streetwear style. There should also be patches in the form of classic McDonald’s products.

Lidl and Aldi Nord have already created a real buzz with their fashion items. Among the clothing items from the discount supermarket Lidl, slippers and sneakers are especially popular. The limited-edition Lidl shoes from the 2019 collection were occasionally offered for 400 euros on the Internet, and were regularly sold out immediately in the online store. Aldi fashion items are also not easy to get. It was only sold in pop-up stores in Berlin, Leipzig, Essen, Hanover and Hamburg, but not in Aldi branches.

Unlike rebates, McDonald’s relies less on artificial scarcity measures. From November 20, the collection will be available in Snipes stores in Germany and nine other European countries as well as in the company’s online store. Some parts of the collection can also be won as a prize token on specific products, in the McDonald’s app and on the social media channels of both partners as part of the current McDonald’s Germany 50th Anniversary campaign.
