Unreal Engine 5 made it possible to create a photo-realistic train station. The effect is amazing

The release of the full version of Unreal Engine 5 by Epic Games has encouraged many developers to give this engine a try. Someone decided to create a visualization of the train station. Honestly, it’s hard to say if it’s still a game or a reality.

Lorenzo Drago is responsible for the project. The developer has reconstructed one of the Japanese railway stations located in Toyama. The creator admits that he used several technologies for this. You can watch the video showing the man’s work here.

“In this project, I wanted to achieve an effect as close to realism as possible. To get an accurate aspect ratio, I used the right camera and used references carefully. Later, I tweaked the dimensions for easier consistency.”

Drago stands out on the site pages Artstation, That Lumen technology played the most important role here. He also said that only some of the decorations come from the real world, more precisely from scans of the place.

The realism here also adds to the trick of using a shaky image and the fact that we’re watching a “phone shot” video. When the image becomes static, we can see that we are dealing with graphics and not a real thing.

In any case, the capabilities of Unreal Engine 5 should be appreciated. Without a doubt, it is a powerful tool that can give a great effect in good hands. Let us remind you that this engine produces, among other things, another part of The Witcher.
