Djokovic began to be more regular, and he was able to better read his competitor’s motives. In the tenth game, Serbia won two sets of symbols but did not use them. He finished the game on a tie-break, where he scored four out of five at 3-3 and finished with a superb forehand.

Djokovic’s dominance in the second team is beyond controversy. ATP reached the point where the leaderboard could not reach the root, which in addition began to fail with forehand.

Already in the first game, the Norwegian player gave a pass and the ball broke the forehand at the break. When the scoreboard was 3: 1, Root broke again after a forehand error. Djokovic took a 4: 1 lead and calmly led the game to the end.

The fight lasted an hour and a half. This time, Djokovic blasted ten aces, conceded once, scored three of five break points, made 21 finishers and made 15 unforced errors. Root added pride to nine aces, 26 winning strokes and 25 own mistakes.

This is the first match for the Green Group in the ATP Finals 2021. In the second match, at 21:00, Stefanos will face Tsitsipas and Andrei Rublev.
